DSB Bank, what to do as customer?


When reading the latest news on internet, but also on TV there is a lot of talk about DSB bank.

The latest facts:
  • The top-5 bigger banks of the Netherlands tried to safe DSB (Rabobank, ABN, Fortis, ING, SNS)
  • No "hard procedure" for DSB customers
  • Image of DSB was the reason to make it bankrupt

In februari 2010 the Dutch goverment will publish the results out of the large DSB investigation. This investigation should make clear all facts around the bankruptcy of DSB.

What to do as an customer? For questions you should go to the Nederlandsche Bank. They guaranty an maximum of 100.000,- euro's money for customers that saved money. Not a lot for some customers, I read one had >30 million euro's on one account... Saving isn't that safe anymore, at least not at smaller banks.
